MacRAE’s addressed us with quite an exciting and unusual request – create more than 10,000 small, four-page marketing websites connected to Google Sheets.
“OH MY GOD” was our first thought – but we are not the ones who give up so fast…so we started working!
MacRAE’s Design
In addition to development, we were asked to create engaging user designs. Our designer prepared the first version of the homepage and hit the target! At the same time, we continued working on other pages, approving them with the client and reflecting on all comments.
Front-end
We started with front-end development, a process that fascinated the entire team because the design we created was just exciting to realize. No-no, it’s not the story about the designer making a “beautiful” picture and the developer struggling at night to implement it. We absolutely enjoyed it!
Google Sheets Integration
But we had another, no less important, task—integrating Google Sheets into the website. We considered different methods and decided to create a plugin that would allow the admin to update the website with new content or add new product sites anytime.
Result
In the end, we got thousands of websites,
with functionality developed to make the clients' marketing process easier and save their time on creating more than 10,000 product sites.
The client can now add or change particular page content by simply editing the spreadsheet and syncing it with the WordPress database.
